Your center of community learning!

Since 1914, Jefferson County has benefited from a valuable, on-going partnership with Washington State University.  Today, WSU Extension continues its longstanding tradition of bringing the university to the people.

WSU Extension is a living, evolving, market-driven organization that responds to society's changing educational needs.  Our community and our nation are challenged to expand lifelong learning and the utilization of knowledge to solve complex problems.

We identify current trends and priorities, convene and facilitate networks and learning, lead local action, develop hands-on learning opportunities, and extend degree and non-credit education to everyone.

Through partnership with WSU or community is consistently supported in its ability to respond positively and effectively to emerging, critical interests and issues.

WSU is here to help when people come together to make a positive difference.  As a result of our community collaboration:
  • 600 community volulnteers are trained annually through various WSU programs, including Master Gardeners.
  • 900 youth are served through our 4-H clubs and programs each year, with over 100 adult volunteers leading the way!
