The Otter Room
The Otter Room computer lab consists of 9 student workstations, one of which can be used as an instructor's station with connection to the over-head, digital projector. This room is suitable for computer or internet based instruction and webcasting.
Equipment: Dual-core Intel-based iMac (9 units total) running MAC OS X, each with LAN-port/Airport wireless, external monitor connector port, 2 USB ports, 2 Firewire ports, digital phono jack, and built-in mic & camera. Instructor's station is connected to a digital, ceiling-mounted projector.
Software:Core Programs include Final Cut Studio, Adobe Photoshop, MS Office suite applications, and Safari or Firefox Browsers. Additional Programs can be used according to class specifications.
Connections:Full T-1 (max transmission rate of 1.5 million bits/sec) through the College of Agriculture & Home Economics (CAHE) wide area network accessible through wired LAN or wifi signal.
The Otter Room computer lab is open to the public free of charge for study if a group or class is not in session.
